Old house gets modern facelift

CBC

Dalnavert House Museum will have its grand reopening in May, after being closed to the public for a year of renovations. Except for readings of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, Dalnavert House has been closed to the public since March. The grand reopening will feature the unveiling of the Dalnavert visitors' centre, a crescent-shaped building that rings the Carlton Street building — former home of Manitoba premier Hugh John MacDonald. Curator Tim Worth says when the 110-year-old home opens, the visitors' centre will boast some of the most advanced technology available.
