Bumper stickers distributed at an international environmental conference for architects, builders and planners at the Royal York Hotel last week raised some ironic eyebrows. The message -- "5 per cent of the world's people consume a third of its resources and make nearly half the waste" -- may be true, but it becomes a mixed one when displayed on the shiny chrome bumper of an SUV.
