In the midst of a $900-million capital expansion, the U of C has hired a leading senior architect to assist with the project. Bob Ellard will join the university's executive this summer, and will take on the portfolio of campus development and expansion. Ellard's career has seen him work on many post-secondary development projects, including the Centre for Kinesiology, Health and Sport at the University of Regina. After living in Regina for the past 31 years, he hopes to bring a fresh perspective to the Calgary campus. "All across Western Canada, design and construction is going crazy. You need to be a little more fluid in how you respond to demands," he said.
